The Opinionated Parent takes Doodlestix for a test run
December 11, 2008
CPA Mom, one of The Opinionated Parent’s product reviewers, was kind enough to review Doodlestix over the Thanksgiving holiday. After discussing Doodlestix and the review process with the editors of T.O.P. and then with CPA Mom, she had this to say:
“Doodlestix. What could THAT possibly be?,” I thought to myself when I got the email from The Opinionated Parent. Turns out, Doodlestix is something I couldn’t wait to try with my 6 year old son because Doodlestix is “a subscription based product that helps parents teach their children character traits and to ‘do the right thing.”
Full texts of the review are available on both CPA Mom’s blog as well as The Opinionated Parent.
Lille Punkin’ Reviews loves Doodlestix
December 02, 2008
In late November, Linsey over at Lille Punkin’ Reviews graciously reviewed Doodlestix with her sons. Here’s just an excerpt of what she had to say:
“I read the letter to my younger boys, and they giggled as they heard the story of Doodlestix in ways that were personalized for them! I was able to ask questions and engage in conversation to make sure my kids understood—and guess what? They did!”

Doodlestix Launches!
October 10, 2008
After more than two years in the planning and multiple market research surveys involving more than 400 parents in the US, Doodlestix, the first character-based, pen-pal service for children, launched on October 10, 2008. Doodlestix is a fictitious child who writes pen-pal letters to children teaching basic character traits and providing relevant practical examples of doing what’s right. The novel web-based platform for Doodlestix allows parents to customize their child’s letters, so that Doodlestix can mention things specific to each child, such as their pet, or favorite sport or TV program. Parents can also select the frequency at which their child receives letters from Doodlestix in either an electronic or paper mail format.
The author of Doodlestix is a graduate of the Institute of Children’s Literature and has many years of experience in raising and teaching kids about good character. Doodlestix is written in a gender-neutral manner and is appropriate for both boys and girls. Also, while Doodlestix teaches basic moral and ethical principles, it does not present any one particular religious viewpoint and is appropriate for children of all faiths or no faith. Doodlestix is based in Cary, NC, a suburb of Raleigh.
